How far does Kelly present Leah as a morally good character in DNA?

Dennis Kelly: DNA

Leah is one of the most prominent characters in Dennis Kelly’s play DNA, and her choices and actions have a significant impact on how the plot unfolds. The play centres on a group of teenagers who become involved in a young girl’s disappearance. One of the teenagers is named Leah, and she poses significant queries about right and wrong, accountability, and interpersonal relationships.

Leah is initially depicted as a character who is tentative and a little timid and is hesitant to take part in the group’s activities. She also demonstrates loyalty to her friend Phil, who is accused of abducting the young girl. Leah’s character, however, significantly changes throughout the play, and her actions become more and more problematic. For instance, she adopts a more assertive and manipulative demeanour, using her understanding of the group’s behaviour to exert control over and sway over others.
