“Wishing to float”
I wish to float rather than walk
along with treasure of your lovable talk
when I rest my head against your chest
those moments seem heavenly and best
my desires guarded with your existence
my fantasies enriched with your presence
you are a lovelore engraved in my mind
your soft touches and whispers I always find
you entered in my life like a mystry Unfold
filled my life with joys, everlasting and untold.
Since I wish to floatโฆwish to sweep my feet
dancing in your arms ,listening to your beat
“Wishing to float” “Wishing to float”
“Wishing to Float” is a heartfelt poem by Seema Gupta expressing the desire to escape the ordinary and mundane aspects of life by immersing oneself in the love and presence of another person. Through vivid imagery and tender emotions, the poet conveys the longing to be carried away by the enchantment of love, finding solace and happiness in the arms of the beloved.
The poem begins with a straightforward expression of the speaker’s yearning to transcend the confines of everyday existence. Rather than simply walking through life, they wish to float, suggesting a desire for weightlessness and freedom from earthly constraints. This longing is attributed to the treasure of “lovable talk” shared with the beloved, indicating that meaningful communication and connection are essential elements in their relationship.
The intimacy between the speaker and their beloved is further emphasized as the speaker describes resting their head against the beloved’s chest. This gesture is portrayed as a moment of profound bliss and tranquility, evoking a sense of security and contentment in the embrace of the one they love.
The speaker’s desires and fantasies are depicted as being intricately intertwined with the existence and presence of their beloved. Their love is described as a source of enrichment, suggesting that it brings fulfillment and vitality to the speaker’s life. The beloved is portrayed as a “lovelore” engraved in the speaker’s mind, symbolizing the enduring impact of their presence and affection.
The tender moments shared between the speaker and their beloved are portrayed through sensory details, such as soft touches and whispers, which evoke a sense of intimacy and closeness. These gestures serve to deepen the connection between the two, creating a bond that is both comforting and exhilarating.
The arrival of the beloved in the speaker’s life is likened to the unfolding of a mystery, suggesting a sense of wonder and anticipation. Their presence is portrayed as bringing joy and fulfillment, enriching the speaker’s life in ways that are both enduring and profound.
The desire to float is reiterated throughout the poem, serving as a metaphor for the speaker’s longing to be swept away by love. They express a desire to dance in the arms of their beloved, surrendering to the rhythm of their heartbeat. This imagery conveys a sense of abandon and vulnerability, as the speaker relinquishes control and allows themselves to be carried away by the sheer ecstasy of being in love.
In summary, “Wishing to Float” is a tender and evocative poem that captures the essence of longing and desire in love. Through vivid imagery and heartfelt emotions, the poet invites the reader to experience the transformative power of love, where ordinary moments are infused with magic and enchantment.
